The California Commission on Aging is the state of California's advocate for older adults residing in CA. The Commission on Aging works with the state’s government agencies, on programs and services that affect older adults. The California Commission on Aging also works closely with public, nonprofit and private-sector institutions to address emerging challenges and opportunities.
The California Commission on Aging was established in 1973 and is comprised of 25 commissioners which represent diverse fields related to aging. California Commission on Aging Commissioners serve three-year terms as volunteers which are appointed by the Governor, the Speaker of the Assembly or by the Senate Rules Committee
